Hello all. I was wondering if anyone uses any of the PDA software available for EMT's, specifically for Palm. I've read about a few that sound worthwhile- eMedic, and Rapid EMT, $35.00 and $25.00 respectively. Any quick reviews anyone has on these or other programs would be much appreciated. As for background, I recently passed the National Registry, hope to be put into rotation on med teams within a few months. Thanks,

Personally, there is really no time to look at your PDA during a call. If you do have time, then you are probably doing a long transfer. In an emergent call the last thing you want to be touching is your PDA with your bloody gloves. The only program I would recommend is a Epocrates. Its a program that you can access to look at drug information. Drugs can be a window to a patient's medical history.

The PDR is also available for PDAs. If you look in the right spot on their website, it's free (I forget where it is).

Epocretes is very good for verifying what is in the almighty bag of meds that you will see. I also have E-Medic which has a lot of good stuff in it too. I used to use one called EMS-Toolbox which was more expensive and I really didn't care it. Hope this helps.

I used to have a Palm, but found it was more a hassle than convenience. It's easier to have the flip " cheat" book.. as well, no batteries needed :D
