(masssive MI with EMD, or whatever it's called now).
EMD, or electromechanical dissociation, while still a legitimate term, is rarely used anymore. It does not equal PEA. PEA is a condition noted when you have electrical activity, but no palpable pulses. EMD is a diagnosis that causes PEA. It signifies a disconnect between the pump and the electrical systems, while PEA is much broader, and can be caused by purely physical things, like pericardial tamponade, blood loss, and tension pneumothorax.
Oh, and you're showing our age
You obviously haven't met some of ours.
Nor ours.
I'm still gonna be respectful and give proper care.
I'll always give appropriate care. I don't have to respect a disrespectful douchbag that is simply drunk and wants to be abusive.
Even if I'm berated verbally. They probably have a mental illness and can't help it.
Nah, most of ours don't have mental illness, they have behavioral issues, and learn that it's OK, because they get away with it all the time, and in fact, are pampered.
I will respectfully disagree with the last part of this post.
While often it's true, plenty of the time they are just being a drunken douche.
I treat these people and acknowledge their complaints the same way as any other patient, unlike some medics, but I'm not gonna blow sunshine up someone's *** who doesn't deserve it.
Plenty of these guys put themselves in the situation they are in with their own poor choices, not all of it is being dealt a :censored::censored::censored::censored:ty hand...
Exactly what I think. Very few of my psych patients have actual mental illness. Most just act like d-bags because they can. You'll get treated in my rig. You won't get your a$$ kissed.
