It's only OCFA that starts every ambulance code 2, even to cardiac arrests(until upgrade requested by the engine). Don't even get me started on the ridiculousness that is the medic van system. In Metronet dispatched area(North OC city depts) ambo and fire apparatus has tiered dispatch, either Engine Code 3 and ambo c3, Engine C3, ambo C2, or both C2.
