Hello,
I know that there have been multiple threads on NYC EMS but everyone has different situations and jobs are constantly changing....
I just moved back to NYC from Los Angeles a few weeks ago. I am working on getting my NYS EMT reciprocity done. I have the NREMT and a California State EMT-B license. I have 6 months of prior 911 BLS experience in LA County.
I am applying for FDNY EMS when my reciprocity is done. I know hospital based is hit or miss, some want 1+ year experience some say it's preferred, some it's just about who you know. So my question is, are there any good 911 services in NYC that would hire an EMT like me with a little experience prior to being called for the FDNY? I know Transcare just went out of business and I saw that Seniorcare on there job page says the need Manhattan 911 EMT's and Medics. Does Seniorcare run any of the 911 for the hospitals now that Transcare is gone?
