just joined looking for some advice on a good point to study from. My NREMT test is in 8 days and im losing my mind. Any good free sites to study from? im reading my book right now, but dont want to waste my time on things that might not be asked. such as do they ask about terrorist attacks or is it mostly how to treat patients with such and such going on? what should i expect? im super nervous and want to study my brains out so i can pass the first time. :unsure:

One of the most beneficial things you can do is answer practice questions. Simply reading out of a book is not a great use of time once you have basic understanding of the material.

I used emtprep.com and would use it again despite it being rather expensive. There are other nremt prep websites that people prefer. Do some research and pick one. Having to retake your exam is also expensive both in terms of actual cost and opportunity cost (money/time lost because it took you another 2 weeks to get your cert).

You might try looking at some sets of flashcards people have uploaded to quizlet: http://quizlet.com/subject/nremt/

Obviously, since they are cards created by other users, they can be hit or miss. Free, though, at least.

I used the iPad app EMT Academy. It wasn't more than a few bucks and, I felt, was worth it. Keeps track of your progress in different areas - respiratory, cardiac, trauma, ops, etc. - gives you explanations on answers, allows you to focus on particular points...
