trauma is a word, like any other. a compilation of letters. just as prone to being mispelled as a non medical word. for someone that hasnt even gotten their cert in the mail, your awful quick to jump up on your soapbox and proclaim what real emts should be doing.....
I respect what you said ffemt, but I have got to reply to this thread...
Children are to be seen and not heard..... Topher, from a previous post from you, I am under the impression that you are not even old enough to obtain a State License or get your NREMT card. It is my opinion that it is very rude and disrespectful for a teenager to correct or question an adult's judgment, character, or actions. There are Paramedics and EMT's on this website with YEARS of experience, and their experience outweighs anything that you or I either one can ever learn in a classroom. Textbooks, lectures, classes, NR, nor clinicals can compare to what a Paramedic/EMT goes through when toned out in the middle of the night to that sick child, that MVA, that MI, and so on and so forth. I agree with the previous post about you getting on your soapbox when you have not even gotten your cert in the mail.
I am a BRAND NEW EMT myself. Finished school in December, passed NR in January, and started working with a service in February. I passed my classes, passed NR, got my State License, and now I am learning how to actually work in the field. But, as new as I am, I still take offense at seeing someone correct veterans who have worked in the field for years, especially when the one doing the correcting is not of age to be a Licensed Provider. I am 36 years old with a wealth of knowledge that I gained in EMT class, and I am also a Paramedic student, but I will ALWAYS respect and look up to my VETERAN teammates.
