Hello everyone.

First and foremost I just passed my EMT B course at my college and will be taking State / National in a few weeks. I'm very excited to get certified and get into the field. I've only done two clinical shifts in my semester (One ambulance and one in the ER at a hospital) Both I enjoyed and did a lot of hands on stuff. Anyways the state I'm in is primarily volunteer at the BLS level and don't get payed until you become a paramedic or if you're apart of fire.

I'm currently requesting info from the volunteer side of things but I was curious as to job outlook in Washington State. Any here from there? I will be moving to WA in the summer of 2016 and hope to be working soon after the move.

I'm also curious on how it works as the few techs at the ER where payed and wasn't sure what certification I may need to get to work in a hospital as a tech? Ill keep digging of course but figure why not ask here.

Any other information or advice as a newbie to the EMS field.

Little history about me is that I'm a navy veteran, Did 4 years as a Culinary specialist (Cook). Worked on small boys (Destroyers / DDGS) so I did a bit more than just my MOS. Such as fire parties, Medical and force protection stuff.

Was looking down the path of Fire, Police when I got out but was attracted by the EMT side of things so I dove into it and needless to say I couldnt be more excited to work in this field.

Anyways.. Thanks for the advice, Help etc!
