forgot to add, the malachi is 2 days after I got him, the malachi now is what he looks like now.... been working with him but he was an abuse/neglect case.. I have too big of a heart sometimes *giggle*
Malachi looks great now! We too, have taken in animals that looked liked that.....mostly cats, on a few occasions dogs....that were abused so badly that even though we were able to put weight on them, that they succumbed entirely too early to problems resulting from previous abuse. We took in two Keeshonds....older....one was beaten with a bat that had barbed wire wrapped around the end of it.....the other was shot and starved.....we took them in, rehabbed them, and lost both within a year and a half. But, they for once in their sad lives.....were happy. We took in a 20 year old cat, abandoned because her humans bought a new house and they didn't want her anymore. She was miserable. The shelter didn't even charge us an adoption fee because of her age, and she was a pretty little calico. She was with us one year, and had learned to accept us in the end. Poor baby. You're doing a good thing with Malachi, and you will be greatly rewarded with love and devotion from that one. They know! I'm a nut about animals, my weak spot. We have one dog now (also a rescue, a very nice shep mix) and more cats than I care to mention. I feed the birds outside, and the squirrels, and anything else that wanders into my yard. My poor husband calls me St. Francine all the time. Also, I guess the whole pet thing was off topic, sorry....but thanks to those who responded. I'm still excited about getting our new puppy next Saturday. I wish there was some such thing as an animal EMT! But then again, responding to livestock calls could be a problem Or even worse, gads, like a snake stuck in the toilet call. I was thinking about doing a poll in here once about what kind of pets everyone had, but was afraid it would look silly.
