Well, I'm heading out to the Olympia, WA area in a few hours to pick up a new ambulance. I should be back either tomorrow late or thursday morning. Wish me luck.

Pictures to follow. =)

Have a safe trip! :-)

Don't forget the camera so we can get pics of it in its native habitat.

Well, I'm here. That was a long drive. About 8 hours.

Our appointment to pick up the now rig and check it all out is at 0800 tomorrow morning.

Don't worry, I have my camera with me.

You do not have local builder? The place do not do delivery?

... a prediatory creature, the Paramedic unit roams the ever changing habitat upon which it finds itself and stalks its prey silently and without fear waiting to strike on the unfortunate victims of cardiac arrest and trauma. Quickly, the Paramedic unit goes for the kill and attacks its vunerable nemesis with advanced treatment and transport ...

Not bad eh? :D

you are driving 8 hours? why not just fly out there and drive back?

"Lights, do you think we can land over there?""
"Hmm I am not sure Brown, can't think of anywhere we can"
"Well, yes, um, might end up in the middle of the road""
"Yes I see, over there"
"Righto start coming down, looks like we are well clear, bring the tail to me if you want"

Ambulance Control, Medivac descending ....

Do take some pics mate :D

Is it a NEW ambulance, or an old new ambulance? Cause I know we at AMR SMS have gotten 10-14 new old ambulances lately for the oil stand-bys.

If you buy in bulk they throw the delivery in for free. ;)

We just got 13 new trucks that are sitting at HQ awaiting livery and outfitting. It was neat to drive to a standby and get passed by four or five big rigs hauling our shiny new trucks.

When I get home I'll see about posting a shot of them sitting in the yard.

Well, I'm home and I'm exausted. I'm going to bed. You will have to wait on the pictures.

Holy crap just looked at the new ambulance. Lights crashed it. Man you are so fired.

Ha. My boss told me that if I stacked up this new rig on the way home, I should start running and not stop untill I reach Germany.

Still in the factory. Almost ready to pick up.

New rigs still in the building phase.

These were taken with my iPhone and posted via tapatalk. I'll post some more later when I get pics off my real camera onto my computer.

Looks good, just sucks that they are all gasoline now.

We've been using the Chevy diesel chassis for quite awhile and I'm sure we could have stuck with it. There must have been another motivation for diesel. I'm actually kinda looking forward to the better pick-up and quieter engine. We don't have SSM, so it's not like the trucks need to sit idling for extended periods.

Otherwise from my poking around inside one of the unlocked ones, there's no major differences I can find in the trucks. Other than the odd addition of a CD player to the stereo and a different placement for our traffic director.

I'm fairly certain the livery's (once they apply it anyways) not going to change either since our current set-up is the product of a consultation with Dr. Levick.

The inside is all the same. In my experience diesel have less problems and run for much longer time compare to gasoline trucks.

My bad. I meant between the Chevy Diesel and the Ford Gas.
Mileage isn't a huge issue as we have to retire our trucks fairly early. I think the oldest on the road is an 2007 and it's slated to go to spares at the end of the summer.

I think they likely switched to Ford because the Chevy have sucked for maintenance. Seems our new trucks are spending longer in the shop than the old ones.
