I need to know where can I find some EMS grants at.

For what purpose? It makes a difference as to what grants you're elgible for.

Check out the FEMA/USFA website about the Firefighter Grants. You may also want to check with your state's Department of Health or Emergency Management Department, as they sometimes have EMS specific grants.

Fire service is different than EMS. EMS makes more runs, and they can bill either the patients insurance company or the individual. The fire service is only allowed by law to bill the insurance company, and only for the amount the homeowner has provided. In some states they cannot even do that! Our FD will bill the insurance company everytime we have an industrial fire, that usually provides upto 5,000.00. Which is used to replace foam supplies and other equipment damaged in the fire.

At the end of the year however, EMS has the oppurtunity to make upto 800.00 (depends on what local policies are) on every run. Fire Service doesn't work that way. Therefore, the need for grants falls more on the fire service than EMS.

I'm sure if you contact your Dept. of Health, or EMS Regional Office; they have a list of grants for EMS, however. Pennsylvania offers EMS grants for AED's in Rural Areas, Computer and radio communications equipment, and upto 10K for the purchase of a new unit. But not much more than that. I bet if you put SCBA and rescue tools on your ambulance you could call it a rescue, and get a Fire Administration Grant.

In the state of Virginia if you bill you will lose all of your state money and you can't apply for any state grants. We apply for the state grants. That is the only I know of for EMS.

IN florida we have fafsa.org, (it's an online application for pell grants, and any others that are available in our state) I'm sure your state has something similar, the only catch is you have to be degree seeking. (Most grants don't cover certificates.)

What about Homeland Security - they have grants for Public saftey to train for WMDs.

Other than that, no idea.
