I've worked as an EMT in Texas for a busy service for about a year. Due to military reasons I'll be moving to Washington State to the JBLM area. I'm franticly applying for jobs (and stressing due to their weird DSHS license application process) and I'm seeing agencies like Rural Metro, falck, AMR, ect. I have no problem with having to do IFT if it comes to that. Which companies should I stay away from? Which ones are actually good to work for?

Work anywhere you can get hired.

BLS is BLS.

And don't stress over the licensing. Once you get hired it's pretty painless. It takes a while though. When I left, it was 6-10 weeks to process a new state certification. Maybe they've gotten faster, but I highly doubt it.

There are also some other EMT jobs in the area, Emerald Down's does seasonal stuff, SCORE Jail in Des Moines hires EMTs still I think, Wildwaves hires seasonal EMTS, Amazon has several locations that they hire EMTs for. On top of that, you might try applying for ER Tech gigs, there's a few in Pierce County.

I'm applying like mad to everyone. I've never worked a tech gig but I think I've applied to at least 5 of them.
