Or just put "open". They likely already know what they're going to pay you.

I usually put negotiable. I don't want them to disqualify me based solely on my answer. They likely don't have any leeway in starting salary anyway.
 
I would but " starting wages" unless you know exactly what the company is going to pay you.
 
They don't care what you put. I also put "Open" when applying for EMS jobs.
 
What about the ones you fill out online and only allow for numerical digits?
 
I usually wont put an answer if it asks for a number but I usually state open, negotiable or starting wage
 
The online ones which require a number I always put

0.00
or
1.00

They are going to assume typo or computer error and no one is going to hold you to that amount but you have entered a number and your ap is now valid according to the computer system. If they want to interview you, they will and then the wages can be discussed.
 
Just leave it blank. They will pay you whatever you choose, and if you put something too high they might think you are unrealistic or have an ego :/
