FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- A 92-year-old man has died from burns received during a fire at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills and authorities said they're not certain what led to the blaze.

Margo Gorchow, the hospital's vice president of community relations, said a nurse found Walter Gajewski with his pajama pants on fire at about 12:30 a.m. Thursday, but that nothing else in the area was burned.

Gorchow said Gajewski was coherent when hospital officials ran in to smother the flames.

"He was able to talk. When asked what happened, he really could not give an answer,” Gorchow said.

Strange. You know, the article doesn't actually specify if the person was a patient or not. It sounds like he was, but they don't state it directly. I wonder if that is a HIPAA thing?

Just a guess, but it sounds like someone wanted a cigerrette, didn't want to go outside (or couldn't) and fell asleep to me. That is about all I can figure.
