Any one work for or heard of MedCoast Ambulance? I have an interview with them coming up. Just curious about the company other than what they say about themselves. Thanks.

Heard of them, don't know anything about them though.

i know of a "WestCoast" and "MedResponse"...

never heard of a "MedCoast" but that could be because i'm working in the antelope valley.

Have you checked out Care Ambulance? Considering that they just took over a handful of contracts from Medix, I'm willing to bet that they're hiring. Their main base is near the 5/57/22 interchange (north of CHOC/St. Joseph's). Lynch Ambulance's base is also in the area (57/91 interchange area).

oh man I would love to work for CARE. I did three 8hr ride along shifts with CARE during EMT school. They are my first choice I'd wanna work for but I applied online and they denied me... I got an email saying the pool of applicants was too large blah blah didn't make it. Anyone work for CARE in this forum?

I applied to Lynch as well as Doctors, and Emergency. MedCoast called me back within 2 minutes of me submitting the online form.

I worked for Care for 2 years before I became a medic. It's a great company, keep trying their hiring usually goes in cycles.

medcoast = No where an EMT would want to work.

medcoast = No where an EMT would want to work.

could you please elaborate on that? PM me if you want. i'd like to know about the company.

from my point of view i need a place to start gaining experience so in the possible future if new opportunities present itself i have a 1up on other applicants. also, i need the 1-2 years experience as required by the medic school i plan on attending.

Anyone work for Doctors Ambulance? A good company right? Is it basically the CARE Ambulance of south orange county?

Basically now that they've taken over most of Medix's 911 territories. I've heard good and bad things about them, but I'd say they are more reputable than a lot of the other OC companies.

hey i posted something similar on another thread... thought i could use it here so i could get an insight on how local ambulance companies structure their interviews

i have an interview this Thursday with Doctor's. i was curious what to expect? i read in another thread he was asked the local protocols?? i don't know those confidently if barely. i think I'm an ok interviewer; my people skills have vastly developed since my first interview for my first job and Disneyland lol. and I'm hella comfortable talking about EMS and EMT stuff.

my main concern is like JPINFV said they've acquired new contracts. they just hired 50 people over 2 weeks. i was able to peek at the log book and i have 1 of the last 2 spots left for interviews for the month. the secretary also said that after this hiring cycle they won't be hiring for another year. i really like this company and this is what worries me; the pressure is on to wow them.

so is there only one interview or do they usually have follow-ups? would they hire you on the spot or have you sweat it out? also, when's it good and how do you bring up pay?

i'm under the impression most ambulance companies have the same interviewing styles like most business interviews go the 2-3 interviews route.

thanks.
