Hey guys,

Real quick I was hoping this could be answered. AMR Irwindale (San Gabriel Valley) Hired me. I start my training tomorrow, but was un-sure exactly If I needed the LA expanded scope/accred. I have the OC accred. but do not have the one for la county. I'm not sure if the "California" EMT-B card/National Reg card were both accepted because they haven't mentioned anything and hired me without any problems. Thank you In advanced.

Contact your the person that hired you or at least that division, they'll know their own requirements better than us.

Some companies cover expanded SOP during orientation. I'm not sure if AMR is one of them.

I don't know what they're timeline is on when you need to have those certs in (often it's by the end of your training, before you go 'solo').

But it makes pretty good sense that an OC accreditation wouldn't' work for LA. What good are local OC policies going to do you in LA county?

You need a local accreditation or scope of practice cert for whatever county you're working for (if that county requires one). LA and OC each require one. It's understood that you already have your state EMT card. In addition, you need to show you're familiar with your local county protocols/system.

You will have it taken care of in orientation. Welcome to the team from an antelope valley emt

Thanks for all your responses. Admin may close the thread. :D
