Nasal congestion, sneezing, productive cough, drowsiness, lack of appetite, but no fever.

Too much chlorine in the pool maybe, irratated their nasal passage and airway?

I used to get a terrible rash when I got in "pool" water. I was allergic to some type of chemical in it...

Perhaps they have water in the ear, or sinus pockets.. That could cause an infection, with or with out fever. I get a sinus problem every fall, it seems prolonged this year, maybe b/c it's been raining for two weeks straight. I flush them with warmed .9% Saline Solution in a toomey syringe w/ a 12fr cath to get the fluid into the sinus pockets. If they are inflamed I add some lido jelly to the saline so as to numb them, it also lessens the risk that I will sneeze severely. while the drain.

Thanks for the ideas. They aren't complaning of any pain or anything specifically bothering them, but the poor things are miserable. Well, I guess I'll just keep them out of the pool for a while.

SUE SUE SUE SUE SUE SUE

Your kids went there to have fun, relax and play. Now they come home sick and miserable. The pool obviously didn't lead up to the expectations the owner is presenting. You should sue for thousands.... no millions.

If a pool uses too much chlorine or bromine, it will cause gas build up on the surface of the pool - right where you breathe when you swim. If that's what it is, it should clear up on its own after some fresh air, fluids, and a good night's sleep.

Could also be that they were getting sick, and just finally started sneezing after the pool.

LOL GOd you two crack me up...

Anyway been a hell of a morning. I actually had to call EMS for my son. First time, and it killed me. He was complaining of pain, I looked at it and saw a rash from his underwear line, I said Grey, it's just a rash you're ok, he said no no mommy it's inside. He tells me someone came in while he was sleeping and broke off his insides (Umm ok). So I palpated the 4 quads and barely touching his ULQ and LLQ he screamed out in agony. So I called his doc. they said go to ER, (which I knew that was what they were going to say, I shouldn't have even bothered calling.)

So he's moaning and laying in the guarded position, then stops for a bit, then starts again, while we're all getting dressed, then he yells Mommy I can't breathe, it hurts, I check his airway it was fine, but I still freaked & called 911. I figured if he goes down, he'll need ALS. 4 hrs later, they don't know what's wrong, his pain stopped right about the time he got there and his urinalysis was fine, no blood, no infection.

AHHHHHHH.

Knowing what I know, makes this worse, I knew it could be bad gas to a GI bleed and of course I'm fearing the worst. This motherhood stuff can suck, and I've got the cold he had on top of it. They medic and EMT were very understanding though. The EMT was in my class and remembered me and they took very good care of him.

Anyway, that's my vent for the day...

Or the ambulance, he may have well been going to disney world as excited as he was about that.

I know, I told him in the hospital that he scared mommy, and he says, Did I scare the crap out of you Mommy? Uh...yeah

Yes he's home, and no pain this morning. I'm calling his doc today, there was a possible "manly" problem he was developing but I did the warm bath and it worked, but maybe he needs to go to that specialist after all.

Good suggestion Doctor..

My diagnostic guess would be severe gas pain.. people have completely fainted from the same pains as described, and the main cause is constipation.

Causes such severe pain that one has a panic, they cannot get enough air, they feel a sense of something about to happen... and boom. down they go.

Trust me. There are lots of things to fall and hit your head on in the bathroom..
