Job Requirements CA EMT

Hi I have graduated from my EMT class in the summer and passed the NREMT. I'm looking at jobs at Rural Metro and they require:
  • Current CA State EMT License
  • Current San Diego County EMT Certification
  • Current CA Ambulance Drivers Certificate
Maybe I'm dense, but can anyone explain how to get these? Also, I know my teacher for EMT class mentioned something about "Live Scan". Can anyone explain this? Sorry I don't know this information, but it was all explained to us while awaiting our Practical Final and I was a bit nervous.

Allow me, as I used to work for Rural/Metro of San Diego. The following link is to the San Diego County Emergency Medical Services Agency, more specifically their certifications/accreditation page. The ambulance drivers certificate can be obtained from Department of Motor Vehicles after passing a short test. You must have your EMT certification in hand however when you go apply/take the test at the Department of Motor Vehicles.

The Live Scan is a criminal background check that is conducted on your person via the FBI and Department of Justice (DOJ) databases.

You will apply the first two to the county EMS office. The ambulance driver cert is through DMV.
 
Don't forget your dl51.

How do I private message? (Maybe I'm not cut out for this EMT stuff!)
 
My plan now is:

1. Go to a LiveScan place (Bring with me my: DL, CPR card, NREMT card, course completion certificate) (Do I need a CORI number?)
2. Go to San Diego County EMS Office (where I will get my County and State Card???)
3. Go to the DMV and take the Ambulance Drivers test.

That's it? If anyone has any tips on changing the order or more things I need at these different places please let me know.
