with just an EMT-B certification and no experience is it hard to get a job?
I have a B.A. from a small liberal arts university (which I guess is irrelevant, maybe not?) and am going to get an EMT-B certification. What are my prospects?
What kind of work would I be looking at?
With all of the competition should I even bother?

Thanks!

As with a lot of places, an EMT-B with no experience will most likely start off with IFTs. Not a good chance to start out with 911 service.

Ift stands for interfacility transfer. It's generally at the low end of the pay spectrum for EMTs and generally isn't too exciting, but you'll definitely get some patient contact hours in.

For BLS IFT:
Yes
Yes
Not hard especially in your area
Degree carries very little weight for an EMT, though it'd help as a medic.
