Hello everyone
I am hoping for some advice I have had my EMT basic certification for a couple years I tried applying for jobs for a year and a half and I had no luck then life got in the way and I put the hunt on hold now I just renewed my Nremt and I am ready to jump back at it any tips for getting in somewhere also one thing that makes me nervous is I have been out of school for a couple years and may be a little rusty on my knowledge I mean I still study every now and then to try to keep myself fresh and I passed the nremt a second time so I cant be that bad I just don't wanna got out there and forget something or blank out and hurt a patient so any advice or tips would be amazing ! Thanks y'all!

Don't know if it is possible where you are at, but you might try volunteering with some agency. Doesn't pay now, but having experience may make the difference later. Good luck.

Yeah I may just have to try somewhere else !

Keep applying to jobs that require EMT like ER tech or medical standbys . I would keep practicing my skills if i were you. Dont be that guy onscene who doesnt know how to c spine someone. Good luck out there man !

I keep up with the skills and still have all my old lectures recorded from class and notes so I usually listen to them to keep myself fresh but I just get nervous I will forget something but all the people I know in ems say it will happen and that's what your partner is for !

Apply anywhere and ever. Go to companies and ask to talk to them about their hiring process. Do not take silence for an answer, until they tell you are not getting hired, continued to respectively inquire about your status.

If you are going to be writing a letter and/or resume, get some to proofread it and make sure it's properly formatted. Use periods.
