I have to go to Jacksonville in June for 2 weeks for a class for work. Anybody from that general area feel like getting together?

OR...

How about an EMTLIFE FIELD TRIP!!!!!

I have a wedding rehearsal to go to in 2 weeks. You're probably closer to me in your home town though lol. I'll be up in Talahassee in May, I just know they're going to skip me for the Miami NR test and give me the Talahassee date <_<

Thats funny about the NR test...I am convinced they won't be giving me the Talle test and sending my butt to Miami. I am saving all my PTO time at work, just for that craziness!

Oh and Talle is about 3 hours or so, depending on how crazy a person drives....

In that case, I could prolly make it in 2  :D  :D

LMAO!..Tallahasse is 8 hrs for me, and Miami 2....I KNOW I'm going to get Tallahassee lol.

 Oh yes, I am thinking there are some evil little gremlins at DOH and when we send in our apps that is their only thrill....to send us to the furthest testing point from out home.

How about those Miami and Orlando peeps that get Tallehassee.....Its amazing they don't go postal on the testing people

Wait...then it would be called "Going EMT!" on someone!

The reason they don't "Go EMT" on someone is that they don't want to have to treat them when they're done. :P

Princess, did you have a hard time getting your application accepted? I've gotten 2 notices of deficency now, first for not having the back of my CPR card signed and now another one because the date I signed and the date the notary signed were not the same. I swear I'm going to wring thier necks if they send me another one.

When are you taking your test btw?

Don't have my date yet. We are not officially finished until May 23. We will be sending in our Apps shortly before then.

The nice thing is our instructors go over the app with is Line by Line to make sure we have it right. From what I have been told is they basically hold our hands through the application process, and even mail them for us.

I will let you know how it goes for me.

When I had to submit my application the guy in the office basically said... I couldnt turn it in the way it was and waste my money or I could give him a 5 dollar processing fee and he would make my copy the right way.

It seems like every time you touch any paper that says EMS on it they charge you!!!!! all to make $9-10/hr!!!!!!

No kidding, for a single test application that was SUPPOSED to cost a $75 processing fee, I've now spent well over $150 that I don't have. (We're a family of 4 living on a cop's salary, God how I can't wait until I'm working again!) You were lucky Codesurfer that he offered to fix it for you. And Princess, be warned, you have to have the application in before the 22nd of the month BEFORE the month you want to take the test. So if you want to take the May test, your app has to be in (and approved) by April 22, I learned that the hard way!

*edit: wine + posting = bad spelling :(

I don't even need wine for my spelling to be bad. :P

This is my 100th post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *pats self on the back* B)

Thanks for the warning. With that info, it may be July before I get to take it :(

We are not officially done until May 23. So I guess I will look at July then. Hey did you see the new design to the DOH website? AND they are going to start giving the Paramedic Exam in 12 (thats TWELVE!!!!!) locations throughout the state, and by computer!!

Sure hope they transition that to the Basic exam....but the way my luck runs (and yours by the sound of it) they will transiton to 12 sites for Basics...In August...after I have driven to Miami!!!

LMAO!!! Sad but True! I can envision them having our names in bold on a board somewhere with a sign reading "New testing method pending on these two being as inconvenienced as possible" LOL

At least I"ll get it for my -P test!
And I have that website on my fav's list, I like it, much easier to navigate than before.

Talk to your teacher about possibly opening registration for another day. My teach pulled some strings as our class finished one day after the deadline and got us 2 days extra to register for NR. Even if your teacher cant work things out for you, there was an option for us to pay an extra *sigh* fee to register late. It might cost you a few bucks, but if you are in a hurry it could be worth it.

If all else fails waltz into the office and bat those lashes! B)

I figure tonight, after our final, once the ones that are not going any further leave, I will ask about sending in our paperwork....Here is how I envision the conversation going...

"Hey Joe"

"Yea"

"So when are we going to send in our paperwork to the state for the State Exam"

"You haven't passed the class yet"

"Oh, its ok...I'm good...we can submit them and thats one step out of the way"

Laughter...not with me...but at me....

:P

Our teacher was fairly confident in us and knew enough of us would register to make it worth while to have them push the deadline back. Out of the 39 of us taking the 3 week course, only one student failed. 20 or so of us took NR three weeks later and 17 passed.

You'll do fine, some people that I tested with didnt have it together half as well as you do and now they're EMT's... yikes.
