Is there a doctor (or other medical provider) on the plane?

Here's a two-part talk on the framework that goes into the care of people in flight and the decisions to be made for their care:

Interesting newspaper article. http://m.jsonline.com/business/for-...detailed-game-plan-b99138188z1-232204581.html

I'd probably help if I wasn't drinking. Unless I was watching a movie on my iPad. Then naw.

The medical command MD in that article is one of my program's medical directors. The communication side which handles the airliners medical consults is pretty impressive and is on the top floor of UPMC Mercy in Pittsburgh. It's pretty cool how the process goes and the fact they can be talking to commercial flights in Cali and giving medical direction from halfway across the globe. We got an orientation shift there when I first started.
