Interview questions for current employees.

Hey EMTs, I need some help with getting interview questions answered by current providers in the field so I can apply for a grant for college. These are also questions I’ve been wondering about myself. I need at least 3 people, feel free to answer either publicly or in a private message depending on your preference!

Name, company, and position would be appreciated but are not necessary if unwilling.

The questions are,
1. Are there jobs in the field?
- within your company?
- within the community?
2. What skills are required?
3. What training is required?
4.what do you feel are the satisfactions or advantages of EMT work?
5. What are disadvantages for this line of work?
6. What is the potential for advancement and/or pay raise?
7. What is the salary range for entry level
8. How do you deal with stress?

Many of the questions you are answering are location specific. Especially 1, 6 & 7.
Questions 2 & 3 can be found in any job posting
4&5 are personal opinions.

Army is paying most of EMT but the organization that is providing the grant were offering to cover books and registration fees that I had to pay out of pocket if I can get these interviews out of the way. and later this summer they are helping me fund surgical tech training if I make selection into the program. (Only 10 slots)
Yeah I agree about 4&5 being opinions and I could make up some **** for almost all of it if need be. But I’m kinda curious what people enjoy and hate about being a EMT or Paramedic. That and I don’t know any EMTs in real life I can ask.
