Nursing and some other medical fields have attracted people from all over the world and we offer a degree of reciprocity. Does this affect PEMS (prehospital EMS) too?

I hope not, the market is already tight in EMS no need for immigrants to come in and work it also. The only section of the medical field who should be seeking foreigners is MD/DO.

Pet peeve:
EMT's= "EMT is" or denotes possession by the EMT
EMTs= Plural of EMT ex: "The EMTs work on an ambulance."

Pet peeve: people correcting grammar and then failing to contribute in a meaningful manner to the discussion.

With that out of the way, I think it really is a non-issue in this country. The wages and working conditions are not really attractive to our counterparts in other countries and they would be fighting the same fight that the rest of us our when it comes to finding employment.

Now if our government chose to make it easier for foreign born nationals to get EMS jobs than US citizens and residents, that I would have a serious issue with.
