I just passed!

This has been a mission for some time for me. I won't go into all the details but I had to take the course twice!

I just found out I passed but it the page on the NREMT website that said I passed also said....

" National Certification is not a license to practice. You should contact your state EMS office for information on licensing requirements."

WHAT THE HECK IS THIS?

U have to send money to the state to get a license. You're nationally registered now so u can get a license in most states. Contact the state and send them the money asap to get your license. They can be slow

Congratulations.

The NREMT certification is just that a certification.

It is not a license to practice.

However, most states accept NREMT certifications for competency towards a state license.

To apply for an EMT license in your home state, you'll have to fill out an application and submit your NREMT and CPR certifications.

OK, I just got of the phone with the state of Florida and they said that it normally takes about 4 days for their database to recognize the National Certification.

You will probably need a Medical Director who will authorize you to operate under his Standing Order Protocols.
