Hi I'm new to the forums so I hope I have posted this in the correct place. I graduated this June 2011 from UC Davis with a BS in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior. I am planning on taking EMT basic classes this fall and then working as an EMT B for at least a couple of years. I was wondering how things work after I have completed the class, in terms of finding a job? How does one go about looking? How is the job market for EMT basics right now around the bay area in California?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Job market in CA is horrible. Why, with a degree such as yours, are you planning on working for minimum wage as an EMT?

I am planning on applying to medical school in the future and I figured that working as an EMT would be a good way to learn and gain experience working with patients because at this point in time, I still do not have enough clinical experience. Is it really that terrible? I am little discouraged now

Someone just said the magic words...

While I didn't write either of these two posts, I do agree with them.
