I'm new to this site, but not to the magical world of EMS. I work and live in SE PA outside of Philly in the burbs. As you can see from my screen name, I work public safety at a college (where we are the primary responding agency for all emergency calls on campus including those of a criminal nature, fire calls and medicals). As you can imagine, in 11 uears I have done everything from been cursed out by a freshman for giving them a $15 citation to responding to a major MVA because the driver was huffing while driving. Good times.

Welcome!

Campus EMS is pretty fun. I like it as variety. The population is mostly young and healthy, so many of the calls are sorta BS. But they still get beat up or fall down stairs.

You guys have an ambulance? QRS? Nothing?

I'm old and don't slip my restraints often. What's this QRS deal?

Has something to do with those squiggly lines that comes up on the ekg tv looking thing.:D

That's right, make fun of the gummer. Or is that GOMER?

And the proper name for the equipment is "THINGEE", dammit. Not "thing".

OP, my daughter was a RA at two campuses. With her CERT and ARC first aid training and the kit I gave her, she saw yards and yards of drama too.

Have your folks considered forming a C.E.R.T.? Not strictly for common emergencies, but useful training and usually free stuff, before the money dries up.

I think he meant QRV, a Quick Response Vehicle... aka: flycar.

Exactly. Differences in local terminology. In my neck of the woods, the state recognizes "Quick Response Service" vehicles.
