Hey everyone I'm new to the forum let me give you a little about myself.

My name is Rich and I have recently decided to join the EMT world. I am 21 years old an reside in Central Massachusetts. I have been an on-call firefighter going on 3 years now. Since I was young I have always wanted to get into the first responding business. I registered for an EMT-B course in Lowell,MA (PrideStar EMS). At first I looked as the course as a prerequisite to become a firefighter. Almost halfway through the class now, and everyday reels me in a little more. I wanted to take the course so I could continue the road of becoming a firefighter. Halfway through the class I decided when I finish the class I want to look for a job as an EMT to try it out for a bit and to have a decent part time job while I make my way to the MFA. Unfortunately I have a really bad attention span. I was hoping joining this forum I could lurk and post seeking side help for the time that I don't spend in class. I work 5 days a week at the moment so I haven't had much study group time with fellow classmates. Hopefully I can seek some side help here in the meantime.
Thanks,
Rich

Welcome to the forum Rich. I hope you find all your answers :)

I am working full time as well and I am halfway through the class myself. As far as studying goes try studying at a library where the light is optimal, and there are no distraction. Once you build up the self discipline you can study at home. Keep in mind that your study habits are are a projection of how much you want to be an EMT. Oh yeah if you get distracted by noises use earplugs. I do an it helps out a lot. Hit me up for any questions.
