I'm not sure glamorous quite describes any EMS career haha.
for the most part you are correct, although flight medic would be pretty exciting if not glamorous
anyway i'm stoked, its hard to get an interview in california, and i ain't getting any younger,
whatever i end up with in the next 12 to 18 months i intend to retire at, i am 46 years old after all, although i am in remarkable shape..still i am not getting any younger.
i would hope to end up in an organization that will assist me in continuing my training so that i can get to the level of paramedic.
eventually i would like to work as a medic and also teach the e.m.t. basic course.
i have extensive experience in management and training employees so i am constantly in the teaching mode,
while i was in my e.m.t. basic course i was always coming up with ideas about this and that and how i would teach a subject or chapter in a different way or approach.
that part is really fun for me
when i was getting reading for my practical skills i got creative and used a bunch of props from around the house so that i could practice muscle memory while doing things like c-spine or k.e.d.
i built my own devices using ironing boards and my sons old carseats along with bungee cords and belts / buckles for straps etc..
it was really fun,
anyway i am looking forward to this i hope the person doing the interview likes me
