I don't really want to just Google and go with what comes up first. I thought I'd (finally) log back in here. I did search around for an answer before posting this, so not trying to be lazy, here! ;c)

I am currently working/driving for Schwan's Home Service, and am looking forward to becoming an EMT eventually. As I can take longer than some to get info drilled into my head, I'd like to get a start on learning/reading things I will need to know once I get to where I can start taking classes.
Thanks so much for any help/advice!

Study A&P.

x2 for the A&P. Everything you will learn from here on out will somehow come back to A&P so having a strong foundation to build on will really help you in the long run. Many EMT and even Paramedic classes tend to minimize the importance of A&P because it's such a huge subject that most don't understand, this is not doing anyone any favors. If you first understand A&P it will make much more sense when you start talking about disease processes as well as each "skill" that we perform you will have an understanding of how and why it's being done beyond the fact that this is when I do it based on protocols.

Thanks so much. If you have any particular books to suggest, that'd be awesome, but at least I know what direction to start with now. Thanks so much!!!

A&P and then pathophysiology. Those are the two things I think will do you the most immediate practical good as a new student.
