I recently passed my NREMT and want to seek employment as an EMT-B. I know I will need a state license to practice. Is that something I can get on my own or will I have to get that through an agency? I assumed it was through an agency due to the medical control agreement which can vary from agency to agency. Please help, nobody can seem to answer this that I have asked.

Where are you?

Depends state to state. Telling us where you are is a good start. Then just google 'x state ems office' and actually reading the info they put up.

READ YOUR STATE EMS WEBSITE

If in CA you do it through your local county ems office. Just google (example) riverside county EMS office. If you're in a different state like others have pointed out, just google "x state EMS office.

Thanks guys, I am a Mississippi resident. I am now an employee of Rural metro and they explained everything.
