First off I was wondering what the shifts looked like and about how many hours a week does an EMT-B get? And how much does an EMT-B bring home a month? And if it helps, I live in Tennessee. Thanks for the advice if I get any.

Chances are too many hours and not enough pay. No matter where you live at.

First off, welcome to the community. The best answer to your question is to call the Human Resources department for agencies you plan on applying to. There is no "national standard" for hours or salary; it all varies based on the agency and location.

in my area, straight out of EMT school will get anywhere from 7.50-11.00. But that's just my area. Hours are about 40 a week scheduled, but as luck will have it, a call always comes in 5 min before clock out time (especially if the rig already has been washed!) at least once a week so you may get some OT. If you work 24 on 48 off like some of the departments have in my area, you'll be on the lower end, but end up with a lot of overtime each 2week pay period.
