Five people treated at hospital after suicide by cyanide in Sugar Creek
Suicide-by-cyanide is extremely rare — only four cases in the country — the FBI told Sugar Creek authorities.
“Unfortunately, number 4 was here,” Sugar Creek Police Chief Herb Soule said today.
Also unfortunate is that four emergency responders and a relative of the victim were also exposed to the hydrogen cyanide a 59-year-old man used to kill himself Monday morning. A firefighter and three police officers were treated at a hospital as a precaution, Soule said.
