I figured I was start a thread about the fdny emergency medical dispatchers. I am very intrested in this job. From what I understand you go throught the fdny ems-emt acadmey and you can dispatch. I have a few questions
So are you technically titled as and EMT even though you dispatch?
Can you also take the promotional fire exam and be promoted to firefighter even if you only dispatched and never worked on the street?
Is the pay the same as regular EMT?
What's the scedual like? Hours and days?
Do they let you pick up overtime shifts on the street as an emt?
