Hello!
I've been stalking this forum for months now in preparation for my NREMT exam. Per my instructors advice, I took the exam immediately following graduation from the course. The test shut off around 85 questions, and I failed. I nearly passed EMS Operations (I was shocked), and I was above passing in Airway & respirations. Everything else was below. Needless to say, I was kinda not surprised. I had re-read notes, and I was an excellent student in class, but as i've learned through this thread that doesn't necessarily cut it.
I got my *** in gear, signed up for EMT Prep, and put in almost 200 hours of studying. I re-read chapters, and seriously felt confident in the material. I went in, failed, and only got Above Passing in OB/GYN. I know it is the most used excuse in the book, but i'm seriously a TERRIBLE test taker, and I think that once I stop thinking that I am, i'll do better.
In the mean time, my approach to studying this time around is to seriously understand the conditions and diseases that we learned about and what vitals/signs and symptoms to associate with these. I'm not sure if that's an appropriate way to combat this, but from my experience in the testing room, I get overwhelmed when I don't know a word or how to interpret it. I also need to understand more throughly my ABC's I suppose.

By posting this i'm hoping to get some serious feedback on how to tackle this. Thanks in advance.

What did you spend that 200 hours doing? How do you personally go about "studying"?
