The amount of glucagon in an ambulance isn't going to do much to help. I saw a beta blocker overdose come into the ED (he had taken 3 pills instead of 1) and the ED doc used all of the available glucagon in the hospital with little affect.

We carry 6mg, I have never had to give the second dose of 3mg. The initial 3mg has worked for me each time.

Yea...we carry 2 mg and do not have standing orders for it in a BB OD. We'd have to call, although I'd definitely be on the phone quickly.

We used to carry 2mg, once we got our BB OD protocol. Our stock level rose to 6mg. The protocol is 3mg Standing order, for symptomatic BB OD.
