Hey, I'm a full time college student looking to work as an EMT during the next school year. Does anyone know of a program in the Charleston/summerville area or anywhere relatively close that offers a summer/8 week program? Thanks!

Did you actually check the results? There are many accelerated programs in the Charleston, South Carolina area.

I think you'll find most community colleges offer summer programs.

Some I found on Google:

If I were in your shoes I'd reach out to local EMS services and community colleges in the area.

The South Carolina Division of EMS has a section on who you can contact for certification questions.

I got my associates from ttc actually and the advisor said they didn't offer a summer program, I'll contact Charleston County and see how that goes though. Thanks!

Thanks man but I wouldn't be here asking if I had found any programs on google, Charleston is super dry when it comes to accelerated programs
Have you checked the official South Carolina Credentialing & Licensure Portal, which lists every EMT-initial course in the state? I mean, it's not google, but the portal is pretty accurate... and every course in the state is listed... and it's broken down by region

Also, you are unlikely to find any courses listed, because it's 6+ months before the summer; however, if you reach out the the agencies that are currently running EMT classes, they can advise you on what their schedule is like, and if they are likely to let you know if they will be running a summer course.

BTW, after two minutes of looking, I found several accelerated courses in the Low Country region... might want to check with SC LLR- Division of Fire and Life Safety and see if they can help you out.

thank you guys so much for the help, ill keep you updated🙏 I’ve never heard of the portal so I’ll look into that now.
