EMT/ PARAMEDIC QUALIFICATION

Im taking a course to become and EMT in hopes of becoming a paramedic in CALIFORNIA. But........ I have a MISDEMEANOR DUI which was dismissed upon completing a diversion program and paying fines in KANSAS in 2011. Despite my irresponsible actions does anyone know how and if this will effect me?

My professor just keep's telling me to be honest on my applications.?!?
 
Yes be honest on your apps. You should still be able to get your EMT/medic license. Finding employment with a company is where you might find some problems. For example in my company both EMTs and medics drive the ambulance. Due to insurance reasons we will not hire anyone for 7-8 years after they have had a DUI.
