i have been a EMT-D for the past 4yrs. in NY and wanting to move to Florida but not really sure what i need to do or where to go ive been looking online but didn't really get any answers, i know im going to need to get a new EMT card for down there but where do i go for it? and where do i look for a 911 job in Port St. Lucie? i saw a lot of private companies working there but not sure if they have a city ambulance company like FDNY but for Florida? anyone that could help i would really appreciate it

Just make sure that all of you certifications are still valid down in Florida. Sometimes they have different regulations, like i know that most states don't accept an EMT-I license

There is no Intermediate level in Florida, so you will have to be a Basic after going through their reciprocity process for that.

As a Basic only, you will work inter facility transport only, especially in 95% of Florida as it is mostly a Fire/Rescue state especially from central Florida to the south.
