Anyone know how or where to get trained in California for EMT-Intermediate

California now calls the intermediate level "Advanced EMT" instead of "EMT-II" (2). However, while the scope and training now essentially meet the national standard, AEMTs (who provide what is called "Limited Advanced Life Support") are still limited to areas that have shown that an LALS program won't replace paramedics. As such, only the more rural local EMS agencies (counties) actually utilize LALS providers. San Diego County is not one of them.

Here's a listing of AEMT training programs. Click on the EMT-II tab on the bottom as EMT-I (1) was the old nomenclature for EMT-Bs.
