I am in EMT-B school and am having trouble remembering everything I am learning. Does anyone have any advice or little tricks they used to remember all the information.
I have looked online tried flashcards etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I hope to move onto Medic school but I have to get the basics down first.

The easiest way to remember something is to understand the whys and hows of it. there are some things you will just have to memorize and flash cards work well for that...for alot of people.

Thank you for the reply. Sometimes I wonder if I am over thinking things that are leading me to miss the important easy things.

One thing I used in medic school, primarily for pharmacology but it can be used for signs and symptoms is a whiteboard. For pharm I divided it into sections with a permanent marker and labeled each section. Drug name, classification, indications, contraindications/cautions, mechanism of action, side effects, ext then I would pick a medication, fill in everything I could remember with a dry erase marker then go to the drug card and fill out what I missed, rinse and repeat. You can divide it any way you want. Pick a disease process then fill in all the signs, symptoms and possible treatments then go to the book and fill in what you missed. Works well for vocabulary too.

Good luck!

For me online flashcards aren't as helpful as making my own. Making them is writing out the relationships between two things, which seems to help me.

You are right I will try actually making flashcards and see if that helps. Instead of just clicking through them online.
