Does anybody know of any ambulance companies in St. Louis, volunteer or not, that are hiring new EMT's? Also, where else can an EMT be hired other than ambulance companies?

Most Saint Louis hospitals hire EMTs as ER techs however many are currently on a hiring freeze.

Do you need to be an RN or have more training to be an ER tech or can you just apply as an EMT?

RNs work as RNs in the hospital, not techs. Again, each hospital may vary, but typically an EMT or CNA position is fine to apply for an ER tech position.
