Overview
KCTCS System Office provides leadership, support and service for the operations and management of the entire system including community and technical colleges throughout the state. KCTCS, which includes 16 colleges and 68 campus locations, is the largest provider of post-secondary education and workforce training in the Commonwealth. The system currently provides affordable higher education to more than 100,000 students. KCTCS has over 11,000 full and part-time employees. KBEMS provides state-wide certification for first responders and emergency medical technicians (EMT’s), as well as licensure for paramedics and ambulance services for the state of Kentucky (KY). The open position, outlined below, is located in Versailles, Kentucky.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Manages and coordinates the federally funded KY EMS for Children Program (EMSC). Provides organizational support, grant writing / interpretation, and training facilitation to state-wide providers, specific to the improvement of emergency care for children. Responsible for developing program offerings targeted on the performance measures / goals and objectives of the federal EMSC program.
Positions with the KCTCS System Office are full-time term contract positions. This position is a federally grant funded position with an expectancy of three (3) years.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
Facilitates specialized training and workshops to EMS providers as needed.
Supervises part-time instructors across the state.
Prepares grant request, maintains budget (modifications and carryover, etc.).
Prepares and provides reports at KBEMS meetings as requested.
Provides expert guidance, interprets laws / regulations / policies and regulations, or have access to someone who can, as needed.
Reviews and analyzes impact of legislation / policy changes.
Maintains program materials and equipment.
Identifies and responds to grant opportunities.
Maintains contact with local and national organizations representing KBEMS.
Responds to inquiries, attends meetings, takes minutes, and updates / maintains the KY EMSC website.
Serves as advisor to hospitals and EMS agencies throughout the state.
Works with program medical experts to develop, write, and revise treatment protocols for care of children in emergency medical service (hospitals, mobile units, etc.).
Travels to annual EMSC program meeting.
Travels to annual NEDARC Workshop.
Travels in and out of state as required.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors degree and three years related experience, or equivalent. NREMT-P, KY Paramedic, NREMT-B, KY EMT-B, EMT-I, KY AEMT, RN, or LPN. Pediatric Emergency Pre-hospital provider (PEPP) certification or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (or the ability to obtain either within 12 months).
