Hey guys,

After about a year after graduating my EMT-B class, I finally landed an interview tomorrow in LA. She said they are only hiring for driver position- but at this point, I don't mind! I gotta start somewhere to gain some experience. So I have been reading up on my notes, but if anybody has advice on questions they ask, Im guessing it might be easier for driver than attendant.
Thanks guys

PS-The ambulance company is MedLife.

Im guessing it might be easier for driver than attendant.

Assuming "LA" is "Los Angeles," why would it be easier? Since drivers for paid ambulance services in California have to be EMTs to begin with (volunteers don't have to be EMTs to hold a driver certification, and I'm not sure how firefighters are handled at departments that provide transport themselves), the difference between drivers and attendants is the ability to drive. Attendants can only attend. Drivers can either attend or drive. Sure, you might normally be placed in a single driver unit, thus driving all day long, but you could also end up being partnered with a driver and switching off driving and attending duties.

OP I'll be seeing you soon. I just got hired there as of today... same deal... driver/attendant.

P.S. the guy Jacob who interviews is really cool

what was the interview process like?

I just interviewed there. Seems like like a nice place. The girl up front is cute. Jacob seemed like a laid back guy. He just stressed that they were hiring full time only.

Chan what did the interview consist of? Written and practical examinations?

Uh. Oddly there were no tests. Jacob looked through my paperwork asked me about myself and that's about it. $10.50 starting with 5 shifts off the bat. 90 days probationary period. They run IFT only BLS and CCT.

I believe there done for OC hires but Jacob said they have openings for LA. OC is BLS IFT only, unless they send an LA car down. 10 and 24 cars only.

Yeah that is pretty odd. . . Thanks for the speedy response Chan I was thinking about applying there.

Actually that's really odd! I got to do a pee test and a tiny physical exam. I think Jacob is just so busy he forgot to tell that to Arecelli or something? Idk. I could see him maybe shifting you that if you are in the active military or something?

Well anyways hope to see you around the company! I hear OC station is pretty chill

I had a pee test and that was it. I'm actually in a pickle now. I got a job offer with Pacific and Medlife. Not sure which one to go with.
