You saved the company money, and that, in turn, could mean bonuses, Cristal, pinkie rings, silk shirts, gold medallions and velour hats worn at rakish angles for the owners at the end of the year.
My company sent out a memo about improving morale. Two days later, they cancelled their reward system. We had it set up that if you ran late calls, picked up a shift, got a customer compliment, etc, you would get 'points.' Each point was worth 50 cents of a gift card. People were known to save up hundreds. One guy had almost 2000 points. Then the system got cancelled, and it was all for nothing.
Raises? Bonuses? Not in our business.
Oh, wait. I got a 6 cent raise last biannual review. Don't want to lie.
