Do I have to re-take entire class

I went through the entire EMT-B course, passed with excellent grades, however I never took the state exam or the NREMT. How long do I have before I have to re-take the entire course again?
I am in NC.

Opportunity to take the NREMT exam expires 2 years from the date on your certificate which should be the course approval date. If you take it and do not pass the NREMT exam, you have a total of 12 months to attempt the exam 2 more times...so, 3 times inside of 12 months. State regulations may be different.
