Hey Guys,

So after I get my EMT I would like to go into Fire. I was just wondering what kind of exercises I could do to prep me for the CPAT. i'm 5'6" and 162lbs so i'm not a really big guy or anything but i have been quite lazy when it comes to exercising on a daily.
 
There are tons of companies which will train you and "test " you for the CPAT.

If you do not like that, then work on your cardio and weighted stairmaster...once you make it past that, the rest is gravy. Many people fail for endurance reasons, not lifting reasons.
 
There are also plenty of free “prepare for the CPAT” websites out there. The events, order and timing aren’t a secret. Get a weight vest. Get comfortable on the stepmill. That’s where people get jammed up.
 
From someone thats done it, running/ cardio is a major portion of the test.
