Yep thats me. A great big CHICKEN!! And I wish I had a little animated chicken picture to go along with it.

You may have read in a previous post all my reasons for not taking the EMT exam here in the state of Florida.

Well after some reflection, and a long drive home last night, complete with being forced to suffer through Life Flight landing nearly spitting distance from my car (If I were a REALLY good spitter), I figured it out.

The REAL reason I have not mailed in my application to take the state exam is not "I don't have the money" or "A Hurricane blew down my house" or "I loaned someone the money I had planned to spend on it."

The REAL reason I hadn't mailed in my stuff is...HOLY CRAP!! What if I fail!! That test is hard and what if I take it and it proves I am not good enough. From what I have heard, it is as hard as the state Fire Exam (written portion). I took that and BARELY passed...what if I take the EMT exam - one I really want- and fail it.

So this morning, after beating myself up all night long about it, I did it. I bought the money order. I signed my application. I put them all into an envelope and mailed it.

So...now...I will be a total spaz from this day until 40 days after I take the exam and find out I passed!

Good luck and I'm sure you'll do fine.

Girl - you are worrying over nothing.

I thought the exam was going to be totally hard... and it wasn't as bad as I thought. If you do the practice tests in the books that you can buy from a book store.... you will do fine.... they are good practice... I recommend it.

;)

(I know about the waiting.... I took the exam last week) I am also in Florida, so it's a sitting game... ( I just checked for my results again.... ;) )

Princess, Princess.....what are we going to do with you?

You know that's punishable by 3 lashings...

Take the damn test!! You're going to pass it!!!

Can I choose who is going to gimme the spankings???

:raises hand:

clearing my schedule for whenever he's ready

You up Chimpie....And with what will you be spanking me this time

No, you don't get to choose, but since Chimpie is our only volunteer, I'll have to let it be.

You were lucky this time :P B)

gets all pretty and ready

Oh Chimpie....You know its a bad thing to keep a Princess waiting....

Hey HotNoldEMTchick,
Where/how are you able to check for results? I too took my test (the tuesday before you) recently, and am really curious to know how I did. Or am I just being dense and this refers to a trip to the mailbox?

go to www.nremt.com

There you can check the "canditate status" by entering your social security number and date of birth.

From what I understand, it will only tell you a pass/fail information. You won't know your score until you received your paperwork in the mail.... But at least this will help ease your mind....

OMG, this thread took a dangerous detour.

Back on track:

State EMT exams aren't terrible. In NY, you can't wait - you HAVE to take your practicles with your class, and then your written about 2 weeks later.

Study, practice your scenarios, and good luck!

Have friends give you wild scenarios and have them spout diff. V/S, while YOU have to ask them idividually since they wont know what V/S. I did this with my duck blind buddies, man did we get some wild ones going. One ranging from risking his own life to save a dog to one man gets is duck call reed stuck in his throat, LOL.

We did study groups for our practicals and invariably a bottle of wine got opened up somewhere in the middle of studying. We had a LOT of fun when the book ran out of scenarios.

I think this is where Corki got her name, she couldnt pop the top off the wine bottle if her life depended on it..................................................................................
thus corki.......................................................................................................
But you never know what your going to end up doing or saying in a duck blind when it is 20 below freezing and the ducks arent flying.

Some guys bring a beer or two along just for the sake of having a cold one during the hunt others just get bored then start to get loopy on their own, which makes the rest of us laugh.

Cool, thanks. Nothing yet, GRR!
