Can someone explain CEU's to me? I don't know if I missed the day CEUs were talked about or what......

Or direct me to some online info about it. thanks!

Basically continueing education units (also known as "continuing education" (CE) or "continuing medcal education" (CME)). Essentially you take courses related to the field and are given CME credit for it. This is important since a specific number of CME hours (dependent on the location and NREMT or not) are required for recertification.

Some states, maybe all (I don't really know or care to look it up) either grant recert with a certain amount of CME hours broken down into topics, or to just do a challenge refresher. A state written will need to be done regardless.

You can get an hour here, an hour and a half there, attend a weekend conference, or take them through a local community college.

What state are you in and are you National Registry?

How many hours CEUs are required per year/per level

What state are you in? Is the NREMT used?

Go to your state's EMS website and you should find all the answers to your questions or contact info to get what you need straight from the certification office.

Alabama, and yes NREMT certified.

I checked adph.org website and couldn't find anything.
Thats why I posted on here, I've been looking for a while but nothing
