so, for 2nd degree type I blocks I've distinguished wenkebach as "walking back" to help me identify this rhythm. I need a quick refresher on differentiating between type II block and 3rd deg blocks. Also, if anyone has any phrases or mnemonics to help me remember a bit easier, i'd GREATLY appreciate it. thanks!

2nd degree type 2 will have P waves correlating with at least some QRS complexes.

3rd degree will have no association between P waves and QRS complexes.

And 4th degree means you're making it up as you go!

I'm currently going to start Fire Academy in January for 2 months, and I wanted to go to Medic School after I am done with the academy. Any suggestions on what to study, how to study, books, prep courses? I am a explorer with LAFD and I run calls with the medics on our rescue. Any help will be appreciated!

Thanks

First degree. First PQRS same as next.
Second degree STRIKE 1, STRIKE 2, STRIKE 3, the QRS is out.
Second degree type TOO many P waves.
3rd degree. A P wave, an R wave and disassociation.

This may not work for you but I usually make up little anectdotes and stories to remember things.
