California EMT Cert/Ambulance License

Does anyone know if you have to have your EMT certification in order to apply and receive your ambulance license in the state of California. I'm in a rush to get my paperwork done and I wanted to try and apply for my ambulance license before my certification became processed through state.

yup... I just recently went to the DMV and they asked for it...they also want to have the receipt that you at least initiated the background check (again I know) and ultimately the medical exam form and green card signed/stamped by your medical provider

Technically, no... but they'll ask for it so it's on record.

Also if you're a volunteer under certain circumstances, it might not be needed. See link above.
